Wind River Equine Sports Medicine utilizes one of the newest color doppler digital ultrasounds in the veterinary market. Ultrasound uses acoustic waves to produce a real time image of a wide variety of anatomic structures. Our system allows us to conduct abdominal, cardiac and thoracic evaluations of our patients as well as perform highly-detailed examinations of the tendons and ligaments of the distal limb. These machines have enhanced the diagnostic capabilities of our doctors in cases as different as intestinal colics, heart conditions, respiratory problems, torn ligaments and tendons, and transabdominal reproductive evaluations. Our digital ultrasound machine is portable and battery powered, making it useful in the field as well as in the clinic.
